Writing a page
A page is a separate piece of content from a post; posts can be ordered on pages. Overall, creating a page is very similar to creating a post.

There is a space for a page title, you can work in either the visual or code tabs when inserting content, you can insert links and you follow the same procedure for saving and publishing. There are a few differences and these lie mainly in the menu bar along the right side. There is no tab for ‘categories’ as you cannot create categories for your page. The new tabs are ‘Page Parent,’ ‘Page Template,’ ‘Page Author,’ and ‘Page Order.’
Page Parent allows you to choose where your new page will be accessed. Whichever existing page you choose, your new page will be linked from that page. Sub-pages do not appear in the main menu, main pages do - i.e. choosing to make your page a ‘child’ of the About page, will make your page a sub-page of the About page.

Page Template allows you to choose your page set-up. Creating your page in the ‘Archives’ template will archive your page.

Page Author allows you to define who created the page if more than one person creates pages for the particular blog.

Page Order allows you to choose the order in which your page will show up compared with other pages already on the blog. The lower the number, the higher the page goes up.
